How do you repair an alloy wheel?
Not all mag and alloy wheel repairs are the same. The repair you are looking for depends on your budget and your vehicle. Alloy wheels are made with a durable paint finish so to fix a scratched wheel may just require a cosmetic spray. For older cars, light scratches or to just add some shine before selling this is a great, cost effective solution.
On the other hand if your vehicle is newer, is your pride and joy or you’ve got some more serious damage and you want to make sure it looks as good as new then you need some machining to properly refurbish your mag wheel.
There is nothing wrong with a cosmetic fix but its important to know the difference because many wheel repairs in New Zealand are really just cosmetic sprays. Of course the price of a fully refurbished alloy fix is higher, but its good to know what product you are getting and that you are getting what you pay for.
